The derailleur that comes with the E-4 kit is a piece of junk and needs to be upgraded. This derailleur is only used to take up the slack in the chain but it needs to line up with the chain. I bent the derailleur in three places trying to get it to line up with the chain properly. I finely gave up and bought a inexpensive shimano derailleur (Deore) that works just fine.
