Now that the trike is securely mounted, on the rack, all you have to do is lift the bike up and push it towards the back of the car until it latches. In the middle of the photo on the left (click to enlarge) you will see a small hole with a safety pin in it. If you forget to put this safety pin in hole the rack could unlatch and start dragging on the asphalt.
Because the trike sticks out behind the car about three feet you will need a safety light or a red flag. In the photo on the right you will see a red light just under the top of the trike seat. I leave this light on the hole time I am driving. I used this light on the back of a rowing shell, that hung out five feed behind the top of my car, for a year and I have yet to replace it's AAA battery.
